Carbon Composite core and stringer system control weight and simplify the build process. With advanced resin systems in Hexion, the highest quality carbon fiber available and an infusion system that is second to none, the boat's 100 percent carbon composite construction creates a completely unitised structure for endurance and safety.
The Panther has a bi, tri, and quad-directional carbon composite hull with twin step shape.
Safety features: crumple zones and carbon composite cockpit give 360 degree impact-penetration protection.
Length from the bow to the bottom of the transom and overall. The length from the bow to the transom (not including the notch) is 26'8". The LOA is 28'9" (Beam is 7'9")
The boat comes with a power jack plate, providing 5" of vertical travel. This can place the prop-shaft from - 2" to +3" in relation to the keel.
The cockpit design was engineered to provide a safe and secure environment for our race crews. The low and sleek profile further reduce the center of gravity and makes a great looking race boat whilst keeping to P1 ethos of one design racing. The enclosed cockpit is integrated into the deck component, independent of hull sides. The space between the cockpit liner and the hull sides is supported by bulkheads creating “crumple zones" providing a 360 degree additional layer of protection for the pilots from both water intrusion and collision impact.
Access to the forward and rear compartments of the boat is only available through deck hatch's, leaving no open access for water to enter the cockpit at the pilot level to cause hydraulic related injuries. The rear hatch gives access to all the ancillary equipment: Power steering & trim pumps, Breathing air cylinder + 1st stage regulator, house electrics as well as a bespoke P1 inversion emergency cut of switch. A polycarbonate wind screen provides secure protection from wind and water while providing outstanding visibility.
The Panther comes standard with the following: Wilson Custom Composite racing seats - complete with a 6 point harness, a Mercury racing DTS switchable throttle system, carbon fibre dash, Mercury vessel view with integral chart plotter, pilot side vessel view repeater, review camera, full breathing air system, powered hydraulic steering, integrated VHF intercom system, poly-carbonate windscreen, integrated lifting hardware.
Other optional equipment can include 15" chart plotter, configuration for pilot or throttle person operation, custom graphics.
The engine is a Mercury Racing 300R. which is a naturally aspirated, 4.6L V-8 4-stroke. Complete with a Mercury Racing surface piercing Sport Master gear box.
