Weymouth

Host Venue to London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Sailing events Weymouth is no stranger to high profile competitive sports, the waters here provide the perfect setting for all kinds of water sports and activities and on September 15th and 16th will host the finale of the 2012 P1 SuperStock UK Championship.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Tourism and Culture brief holder Cllr Ian Bruce said “We have enjoyed fantastic local, national and global coverage of the area and we hope that everyone who has seen our wonderful town on the TV will come to the area in the future.”

Part of the World Heritage Coast Weymouth is surrounded by secluded coves, coastal paths, castles and gardens many of which can be explored and enjoy spectacular views.

Weymouth is a traditional Georgian fishing and seaside town sitting behind three miles of beach and level promenade front. Around the working harbour are pavement cafes, bars and restaurants and by night Weymouth’s laser lit sea front comes alive with the atmosphere generated by live music from bars and clubs.
