The free to watch event, which, this year will be held on Saturday May 12 at East Lake Toho, has been growing in size at the venue over the past 6 years and the partnership with the BBQ festival, which will also feature a Craft Brew Festival is set to take it to a new level.
"It has been great to work with Powerboat P1," said Paula Stark, Executive Director of St. Cloud Main Street. "Combining these two great events will lead to an even better experience for spectators, vendors and racers with more to offer than ever before. We are excited to be involved".
The Mayor of St. Cloud, Nathan Blackwell, was in attendance at the press conference, which was hosted by Crabby Bill's. The local restaurant is adjacent to where the BBQ and P1 official race pits will be located and where some of the best views of the racing will be seen. 2017 P1 SuperStock USA champion, Frank Silva, alongside his 28ft long P1 Panther race boat, spent time speaking to Mayor Blackwell about his plans for the year's racing. The event is also supported by Experience Kissimmee.
P1 CEO, Azam Rangoonwala said, "P1 St. Cloud, Kissimmee is a firm favorite on the P1 SuperStock and P1 AquaX USA calendar. This is our only guaranteed flat water venue which encourages a more tactical style of racing for the competitors. The Smokin' Brews, Boats & BBQ festival is a great addition to the event and will make the weekend even better for spectators".
2018 is set to be an actioned-packed year for the P1 SuperStock and P1 AquaX USA Championship, kicking off in Miami on the 21st - 22nd April before heading to St. Cloud, Kissimmee for the 2nd Round.
