Throwback Thursday: Brits take to US like a duck to water

It was a weekend to remember for John Wilson and Daisy Coleman as they stole the show in the final race of the 2015 P1 SuperStock US Series to claim a famous victory.

The British duo, racing across the pond for the first time, secured their win by the tightest of margins, defeating Team Alisyn Oil and Lycamobile by one and two points respectively.

Before the event in Tavares, the CrimeLine boat had only previously raced in Sarasota, where its crew managed a respectable 48 points. The addition of Wilson and Coleman appeared to be a masterstroke as the experience of the former saw the crew secure a famous victory.

Coleman had experience of performing well on debut before. in 2012, when making her first ever appearance in the sport, she finished in third position, landing a podium finish and with it announcing herself on the scene.

In the UK series, Coleman and Wilson came agonisingly close to claiming a famous UK championship, missing out in their Pertemps Network Panther by an agonising six points. Despite the heartache, the performance on American soil will live long in the memory of the duo, and with Wilson now retired, navigator Coleman has now been joined by her brother Sam in the driver’s seat.

After a successful 2017 season, the Coleman's now have two UK Championship titles under their belt as well as the inaugural World Championship title to their name.
